valves and guides for 212 - what's best?
-
Looking for the best quality valves and guides to freshen up my 212 - what is the recommended setup for lead-free fuels and who is the best supplier?
Thanks. -
There will probably be some recommendations here. As for me, last time I had the engine done, we checked the valves (factory type) and there was no sign of damage due to non-leaded gas. So I just re-installed some NOS ones. I did have my local Hudson dealer to install the silicone bronze guides, though, since sticking valves are the hobgoblin of 212's. I also use Marvel oil in my gas, hoping to get just a bit more lubrication up around those valve stems.
