1971 dodge dart rear end problems
-
i recently purchased a parts car and pulled the rear end. It is a 8 1/4" rear and one of the axles is bent. i was wondering if anyones know where i can get new axles, or am i wasting my time, should i be looking for an 8 3/4" for my a body?

An 8-3/4" would be ideal for your car, but as you probably know, they aren't cheap anymore! If you go to the bigger axle, you will also need the shock mounts, and you might as well spring for some new springs, too! The springs on your car will work fine, assuming they are in good shape.
Far as an axle goes, you might try Randy's. He advertises in all of the Mopar mags, and in Car Craft, Hot Rod, and such. The 8-1/4" should do you fine, as long as you aren't putting 350+hp to the wheels."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..."
