removing core support from 1940 Packard

I own a 1940 Packard 120 4dr. I need to remove the core support to clean it up and repaint it. I would like to take it out without completely disassembling the dog house. Has anyone ever done this to an early 40's Packard? Thanks. Scruffybeast
