I'm gunna' have to say without. With the skirts, kind of makes the car look a little "thick" in the back. Doesn't really look bad either way though, IMHO.

    Matt,

in case you happen to find a set of Jet fender skirts for sale, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    John

I'm always on the look out for Jet stuff, you never know when you'll need it. There've been a couple sets on eBay in the last year, but they went for more money than I wanted to part with.

Really comes down to what you like. I also like it with the skirts, but then what do I know about much of anything :)

She looks pretty all dressed up - keep the skirts on the girl!

I agree. The skirts make the car stand out a bit more. Love the jet.

    Matt,

I hate to admit it but I like it better with the skirts off. I like the white walls showing off like that. I think the skirts make it look kind of boxey.

I'm a big fan of the extra embellishments the fifties had to offer on cars, especially skirts. Even so, this one's a hard call since you've got the wide whitewalls. If it was a Jetliner with all the side trim, I'd be 100% on the skirts. Without the side trim, I guess it depends on what mood you're in when you take her out for an afternoon. Perhaps you should rely on the old saying, "If you got 'em, flaunt 'em." I've got a set I look forward to seeing on mine.

Just to throw a spanner in the works - I too love the Jet, have had one for 37 years, but I think the skirts give it too slabby an appearance. However, a Continental Spare wheel on the back, now that really sets them off. I thnk two-toning, with a light coloured top also suits them, helps relieve that slightly top-heavy look.

I think you should put a Pope bubble on the roof to give it a little height.

It's your car, but I think with the whitewalls it looks better with them OFF.

Matt, hopefully the picture of the backend of a 54 jet with skirts and continental kit will be displayed. The Jet was in a garage so I did not get a very good picture of it. But, I do like Jets with skirts and kits.

Yeah, just showing the back end with the skirts looks pretty good. When I looked at the whole car with skirts I thought the skirts took away from the overall look. I love skirts on cars but I think the jets are too tall and short so the skirts made the car look even shorter. Plus the white walls really looked good showing like they do.

    Thanks to everyone for voting!

I was hoping the poll would end up 50-50 so I could have a skirt on one side and not on the other LOL.

Maybe I'll put the skirts on for a while...

Matt, even though I voted no skirts I think you have a sharp car their and it's going to look pretty good with the skirts and white walls. I have a new appreciation for the Jet after seeing yours.

Matt, pictures don't do the Jet justice. I was down at Bill A's last week and came face to face with a Super Jet he is working on. It was the first one I have seen in the flesh. It is a good looking car in person. Pictures make it look much boxier than it actually is. I still like your car better with the skirts off.
