Where Can I Find A Solenoid For a 1953 Windsor?
-
Does anyone know where I can find a solenoid for a 1953 Chrysler Windsor, or, in the alternative, what kind of solenoid currently on the market I can use for this? I need to know ASAP as my car is being repaired and the garage needs me to find them this solenoid.

I assume you are referring to "starter solenoids", not solenoids for (for example) the transmission, overdrive, or other things. You need to pin your mechanic down on precisely what he's talking about.
Try contacting some of the companies listed here: http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/partsforsale/chrysler/ . Bookmark this, so you can come back to it.
You might also try a local auto parts place but best bet would be a NAPA store.
If you are going to keep this car you need to develop parts sources for older cars. Hemmings Motor News is a good publication to subscribe too (you can get this by mail or go to Hemmings.com ). You should seriously consider joining a club devoted to your make of car; here's one: http://www.chryslerclub.org/ . Explore their website, you may find a company that sells solenoids. -
