How many made
-
How many would you say was painted to this color http://firstgenfirebird.org/show/closeup.mv?carid=580
-
After extensive research I would say, ah...at least one.

Hope this helps. -
I have seen a dozen or so painted in this scheme over the years. There are 3 or 4 online if you do a google serach. Not to be negitive, but there is no hard data showing the numbers of cars painted to any color scheme by GM. The fact the color shows up in all the paint catalogs for that year, pretty much negates the "only 60 cars painted to this color" idea.
Never the less, it is a great looking car.

The Pontiac Historical Society can tell you how many cars were ordered in a particular color, as well as engine/trans, body style, etc, in terms of a percentage of the total production....So, if there are 10,000 of your car built, they may come back and say that 12.7% of the production had a 455/auto, 22.6% had air conditioning, 4.5% were convertibles, and 2.7% were that color. Take that, and you have 1/1,270 w/455 & auto, and so forth. The rarest would be the color example at 1/270, so the example would be 1 of 270 with that color combo. See how that works? you can contact Pontiac Historical directly, just Ask or Google it."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..."
