Vin # Model A 28"-31"

Can anyone help me with vin # for the 28-29 model A's and do they all have star first and last

I need help with vin # for 28-29 and 30-31 were they all stamped with a star before and after the frame number ? I've had alot differant anwsers

Model As were originally registered by the engine number. It's on a machined pad on the cyl block. If I remember correctly it was at the top of the block on the lft side center, just below the cyl head.
