WTN Classifieds Fun - 1977 Style

I came across a 1977 WTN that I "borrowed" from my grandparents decades ago. Flipping through the classifieds, I found several familiar names with ads. I think it will be fun to see if the writers of these ads remember them 30 years later.
1977 Ad#1 - Parts for Sale
Parting out '37 Hudson 8 sedan, exterior sheet metal
very rusty, will sell any portion of car including any
usable metal sections, frame, etc, example: spedo
and instrument cluster $10; wheels $5 each; window
regulators $5 each; radiator $15; ornament (plastic
good, metal pitted) $10; no engine or electric hand,
car to be junked in one month after this ad appears -
1977 Ad #2 - Parts Wanted
For 1054WCh: 1 set of 2 headlight rims #235596(the
same used on 53-54 Jets); 2 each #240720 1954 tail-
light bezels used on 4D, 5D, 6D, 7D; 1 each #240090
center emblem housing for grille; 1 each green Hornet
type steering wheel (no cracks) (have 53 green Hornet
wheel with center & horn ring to trade which is excel.
used). All parts must be NOS or excel. used as is.
NOS only frt. door "S" rubber gaskets and body header
screw on gasket, for RH & LH doors. -

Attention! The car below is not really for sale, you missed it by 30 years LOL
54 Hornet Cv, 308 engine, Twin H power, std. trans. $
overdrive, fog lights, spot light, back-up lights, al-
most new tires. This car runs nicely. It needs a paint
job and some work on the inside. Another 54 Cv is in the
deal. It's a parts car. Both $850

53 Hornet Sd (Calif. car), no engine, good interior,
new front suspension including springs, new carpeting,

1948 C6ClCp w/1956 Hornet 308, Twin-H, std. trans, in-
terior rough, needs headliner, body fair w/some dents
in roof, slight rust-out under headlights. New hood
ornament, new grille ornament, new muffler; spare
parts include rear tail pipe, two rebuilt carbs, spare
1956 Hornet 308 engine (stuck), std. trans with over-
drive, radiator, etc. Front wheel brake cyl. and
master cyl. rebuilt. Has been running within last year
and moved under own power. Write for details. $750 for
entire package.

Luckily, I wasn't into Hudsons 30 years ago, so I bought a pretty nice '28 Model A coupe. The price has held up quite nicely, and in fact, I'm hoping to sell it this year for a couple thousand more than I paid for it! No telling how much of a bath I would have taken had I picked up that Hudson convertible!:rolleyes:

Aunt Hester (aka Hudsontech) only drove this Hudson on Sundays!
