WAI Carb Needed
-
Would anyone happen to have a rebuildable, complete WAI 749S carb that they wouldn't mind parting with? Cash awaits!
-
Have several WA1's- but will have to check tags to see if I have a 749S- I'll be in touch.

Thank you! By the way, that's the carb for the '50 - '52 Pacemaker and the '53 - '54 Wasp, if that helps any. -
If anyone wants to know, a 749S is not a twin H WA-1.
-
I've always known them to be called WA-!s, too. I wonder why the parts book refers to them as WAI?
-
Oh, a 749S is a WA-1 it is not one they used on twin H. It would very much work, but it is not a 968 or a 2115. I think the 749-s was on the pacemakers, or any other hudson that used a single barrel carb. Remember the WA-1 was used on lots of cars in the 30's and 40's. It is an old design carb.

One more, if you use a 749-s on a twin H, make sure you get a matched pair. same goes with anything else...

The Pacemaker And Jet Have A Smaller Bolt Spread Where It Bolts To The Manafold

James- I have a WA-1 that was supposed to have come off a 323 eng, It doesent have a tag. It has the correct metering rod ( 75-704 ) listed for a 749S WA-1. I havent taken it apart. It is very clean with a little surface rust on the metal parts. Give me a call - (909) 984 5544 if you are interested. Norm
