After almost a year, the Essex came home. I was hoping to have it ready by the National at Auburn, but the work went slower than expected. Looking forward to taking it to the National in 2008.

Looks like a beauty! Lotta '29's out there but you don't see many newer ones (barring Essex Terraplanes, of course). I hope you get it out to some of the "mixed make" antique car shows, so the general public will learn that the older cars weren't all Model A's and T's!

    Jon,

I plan on taking it to the big local show in Flint, Michigan. I had it there a few years ago before the new body and paint job. My favorite question was "What year is your Model A?" It will look good next to all the Buicks and Chevys. My Grandfather (the original owner of the car), used to drive it to his job at the Buick factory in Flint- he said it was more reliable in the winter!

Looks like a nice restoration job. It looks almost identical to my 1930 Essex. Mine is maroon. Is the front seat split or does it just look that way in the picture?

The front seat is split-two separate seats. The seats fold to allow access to the rear seat. Lots of room. My grandparents used to pile their four children in the back seat and drive the car from Michigan to Massachusetts.
