No Spark 53 pontiac straight 8 flathead
-
Hello
I have a 53 Pontiac with a straight eight Flathead that has sat for many years. I can't seem to get any spark to the plugs. I replaced the coil. I do have power (6 volt) to the pos side of the coil. I also pulled the dist. cap and have power inside the dist, but no spark between the points. Next sep I Figure is to replace the points and condencer. Does anyone know what the gap for the points should be? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Points .016, plugs .025, just looked it up in Motor's manual.

Also make sure the primary wire inside the distributor isn't shorting out, they usually run underneath the breaker plate.
