Did we lose any Hudson cars in CA wildfires

I saw a picture on CNN of a burned out 30's roadster. Got me thinking whether anyone knows of a Hudson club member who lost cars in the wildfires? Doesn't sound like there was a tremendous loss of life, which is my first concern, but the Hudsons are my next concern!

With a fire taking up nearly 300K acres of land, losing old cars is probably the last thing on most people's minds out there. It's all just stuff, and stuff can be replaced. I know this from personal experience with tornados.

Bill, How are you doing breathing that nasty air out there this week? Are you staying inside?

Bill is downwind of the San Bernardino Mtn fires, I am upwind and tonight a cloud of ash started settling on everything at my house so I know Bill has been covered in ash since the fires started. Even after the fires go out every time the Santa Ana winds blow Bill will be downwind of the ash clouds. This is going to cause respiratory problems for lots of folks. Bill, you need to get painters masks, that will keep out the large ash particles.

Actually it hasn't been too bad here. I live 2 to3 mi N.E. of Bill and outside of some smoke the first few days it's been not too bad. I think everything's been blowing north and west of us.

Got back from Arrowhead Calif. yesterday after working 11-16 hour days and seeing much devistation. Perry Spring has a cabin up there and I was able to check it "OK" for him. Was kinda weard though that in all the houses in his area "1" in the middle was burned to the ground. HHmmmmmm. I did not see any Hudsons where I was but did see a 53 Buick and a Ford Model A sedan burned up. I have some pictures and hope to send to 46HudsonPU to post. Take care, Ron

Looks like a 1953 Buick and the other looks like a Model A sedan.

They're talking about requiring "fireproof houses" if owners rebuild- tile roof, stucco or concrete walls, etc.- nothing for blowing sparks to take hold in. The other thing would be to do a lot of logging, so the fire doesn't get close enough to get hot enough to touch them off.

I've heard one of my friends in Escondido may have lost an '11 Pierce touring.

I saw some burned up old stuff in Running Springs, a lot of stuff could have been prevented if they had followed good logging practices in the towns instead of the policy of nothing can be touched. Everything turned into a powder keg ready to blow. Really sad to see all the devastation.

But the kangaroo rat is happy. And in the mind of the Gorians, that is all that matters.
