So I've bought a 72 Swinger and am looking to lift up the back end leaf springs. I called the shops and they said they can't re-arch them because of the age and would collapse back down again. I'm looking for a 3 to 4 inch back lift but can't seem to find any springs to fit it. Are there any other springs I can use? If any of you guys ahve any knowledge that'd be great! Thanks!

    Great little A-body forums!

Blocks or longer shakles you can make are the easeist/cheapest way

Blocks or shackles are NOT the way to revitalize weak springs! That is VERY dangerous! Pay a few extra bucks and get yourself new springs. The Mopar Performance Super Stock springs are what you need.

Okay guys, I found some Leaf Springs from JCWhitney that are 110 bucks for a 2-4" lift. Problem is, made for 73 and up Darts. Mine is a 72. Are the specs too different to fit? or will it be fine? Thanks for the help.

Swingers are light wght on the rear, never saw one with weak springs ,At the same time realise lots of overloading could make one do it. . So what are you really trying to do,correct for weak springs or simply want to raise the rear? Blocks or longer shackles are not unsafe as such, what happens when you raise the rear more than original you change wght distribution a bit and the car will handle differantly but not neccessarily un safe

Leaf springs can sag on ANY car so equipped, and spacers and blocks are NOT the way to revitalize BAD springs. If your springs are the problem, go with new and be done with it. You are money ahead, and a hell of a lot safer, too.

Well I put them both on teh back and it only took my dad and I about 6 hours. The lift looks soo good now. It's unbelievable. Rides terrible so we're getting new shocks today.

Did you go with the Whitney springs? The rears are the same from '67-'76, BTW.
