EFI 460 into 68 falcon?

Have a 68 falcon, wanting to put a 460 in it. Ever been done? As far as I know falcons and mustangs had similar engine bays, and the mustang had the 429(same as 460 dimensionally). Will I have to hack into the shock towers?
Also is the mid 90s EFI 460 as good as the old carb 460s?
Also will an 8" rear end hold up to a stock 460? not really looking for performance here.
