1947 parts

I have a 1947 dodge but it is missing a lock cylinder and interior door handle can anyone point me in the right direction to finding these. I have already tried the classfieds here and ebay.

Have you tried an old-car-related magazine like Hemmings Motor News ( www.Hemmings.com )? If you can't find it there -- or can't at least find a 'lead' on it -- it probably doesn't exist. Also, are you a member of a Dodge car club? These specific-make clubs can be invaluable in finding parts and technical information for your particular car.

If you look long enough both will show up on ebay. Especially the lock. Have you been to the P15-D24.com site yet? Type that in and then it will direct you to the new site. Most all of the discussion there is on Dodge and Plymouth's of 46 to early 49 models. Good people and quick to answer questions there. You may want to ask if anyone has what your looking for. There's also a section where people are parting their cars out and one for a dodge is up now. Just make sure your getting the correct lock because even in those years the lock cover was changed a little. Good luck, 1948&49 D-24 owner.

We have a set of interior door & window handles with escutcheons. They came from a 1946 Dodge 4 door sedan. Some pitting on chrome. Two of the window cranks have real nice Bakelite. The other two have small chips.
