50 Olds engine vibration
-
I am wondering if someone has info on a vibration problem I am having. Have a 57 Olds J-2 engine in a 50 Olds coupe. Am using the original 50 hydramatic trans and flywheel/torque converter. I now understand that up to 1956 the engines were internally balanced and after were balanced externally. Soooo, how to remedy this problem. I have thought about going back to the old 303, which is a good engine anyway.
Thanks -
You will need to have the flywheel (FROM 303) counterbalanced to the J2 engine crankshaft. I had it done years ago on a 60 371 engine and no problems.
