Classic 56' Mercury from Argentina
-
Hello everyone,
Im new at the forum and Im from BA, Argentina.
I just bought a 56' 2 door hardtop Merc.Don't know if it's a monterey or whatever.Honestly Ive always been a "less classic" cars fan (60's and 70's) but im really crazy about this beauty although it's gonna take a long time to get it close to it's original glory.
Ok, here are my questions. One thing that bothered me since I first saw the car is there is no VIN plate anywhere
I suppose it should be on the drivers door but nothing's there. Is any other part of the car where I could get it's VIN or any other valueable info ?
About the engine, it looks like it's the original one with its mercury valve covers but I can't be pretty sure, it could be an old national made ford engine with the original covers on it I guess. What numbers should I look for on the block, heads, etc to see if it's original ?
Thanks a lot to anyone willing to help me
Diego
