-
hey guys wanted to see if you could id this block, i thought the 308 had a rib on the gen side ,this engine had a 262 head installed with the 2-h after the fact.any help? thanks for lookingDSC02177_117611396848061.JPG640 x 480 - 60KDSC02178_117611490648061.JPG640 x 480 - 61K

It's a 308 with a 262 head. The rib is readily identifiable as you look under the generator and go straight back to the rear of the driver's side of the block."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..." -

hmm, ok thank you. i guess that would mean that we have hyd lifters and relieved valves, should be a ok combination from what i hear.any input on that? -
Hey, that looks very much like the 1950 Super Six from M.Rosauer which was on craiglist the other day. Again a lost chance for me
-
Well Only Allthe 56's Had Hyd. Lifters Some 55's Were Solids
-
Yes i bought it from Mark the other day.

i have been looking for a good driver since my 52 coupe isnt done yet -
I received some pics and a discription from Mark. Is the body really solid (except on hole) ?
I also thought it may be a good driver. Wish you good luck with it. -

the body is awsume, needs a good block and buff as far as the paint goes,im going thru all the brakes and such. the chrome was all done a few years ago. it does run great with exception of poor idle, but i will take care of that. any way thankyou
