337 lincoln?
-
Found one of these w/ the gm tranny for 700
Thinking about it but no there are some diff's. hyd lifters.etc.
Anyone know a sight where to get aftermarket stuff for these?
Thanks,Joe -
After market parts for 337 lincolns are VERY HARD TO FIND and EXPENSIVE, especially speed parts. There are a couple of folks on www.jalopyjournal.com who run these engines.

These engines , to the best of my knowledge , were only used for three years in large Ford (F- 8s) and Lincollns 1949 thru 1951.. The difference between the truck and Lincoln engines were the compression ratios, hydraulic vs solid lifters and camshafts, and oil pans and pickup tubes. As there's a Hydromatic trans with it , it would have to be a Lincoln engine. Heads should have nop cast in center 9EL for 49, 0EL for 50, and 1EL for 51.

Aftermarket parts ARE hard to find, you can have a cam made, stock rebuild parts are available from Kanter, modern intakes are available from Ken Austin, headers from Reds Headers, you can find adapters to run just about any carb you want, if you go too much over on the carbs you may want an elec fuel pump available in 6 or 12 volt...I'm happy with my 337..good luck with yours

The adapter sells for almost $1000, if you decide not to get it, how about turning me on to it, or if you buy it and do not want the adapter give me a shout.Found one of these w/ the gm tranny for 700

Pretty sure the hot rod lincoln was a 12 cylinder lincoln zephyr motor talk about drive you to drinkin! A friend of mine has a 337 (big block flathead} and managed to pick up a Edmunds twin carb manifold for it at a swapmeet down here (New Zealand) the motor is pretty rare here so goodness how the manifold got here but they definately made some speed equipment for them.
