What class did it run in 1963
-
I am trying to ascertain what class the following vehicle would have run in 1963 that I am restoring as a nostalgia racer:
1963 Chevrolet BelAir 2 dsd, 327 c.i. 300 h.p. 4 speed car
NHRA can not perform this as it is too long ago. Any sharp memories out there?
Any info appreciated!

I would suspect it would have run in B/S (b-stock).
-
Yes, I would have said B/Stock or C/Stock. There were a lot of bigger engines out there in the other car lines.
-
In 1964 I drag raced a 1962 Chevy Impala, 327 CI 250 HP p/g automatic.
They had me in G/SA. I would guess your car with 50 more horse power would be a couple of classes higher, maybe E/S. -
It depends on the weight of the car. (Chevrolet's stated weight not Your weight) I would think the '63 was around 33/35 hundred pounds and that would have put it at 10 pounds per cubic inch. probably E/stock or more likely G/stock. Just an old memory from an old pure stock racer.
