Hi Chuck, See you're running red paint now. If you go faster than me I may have to repaint mine. Looks Great! The only thing that might concern me a little is the position of the fuel pump in relation to the gas tank as far as height is concerned. May need to lower it--maybe not. Keep up the good work. I have a good feeling on this one for you. You have more than paid your dues. I hope you run 12 seconds.

Thanks Randy,
I would be happy with 13sec in a Step Down, You raise a great point about pump location. I seen a Pro Mod last wk with a front tank, Dont have room to drop and with the F/Cell below floor may have to add tank. Need to revise all Lines anyway.
Attached different picture. Chuck

Thanks for the info on the HEI, Ol Racer. You got one hell of an engine there.Six in a row makes it GO!

Randy.
Lowered the pump down as far as pssible below injectors. Great observation.
Thanks,
Chuck -
FYI
Cant do any more 'plumbing' until after in chassis. so going to take little break to get the St. Rod Hudson out of the bay ...Mtr Assermbly 2010 010_128365843748464.JPG848 x 636 - 85K -

Ckuck, can you show other side where you connect the High Side of Water pump to?
Sure looks Super Nice to all of us Locals. Pal Rudy -

The picture is out of focus on my poor Comp. of the other side -
Rudy,
Scroll up the page and there is a better picture of the Left Side....I didnt have the heart to drill into the Block (after losing one last yr) so to improve cooling on the left Side I drilled and tapped the front & rear Soft Plugs and installed 1/4NPT Nipple, then modified the water pump from details on an earlier Post (I think the Post was from you in this modified 308 Thread). I also added a nut on the nipples against the soft plug for support.
Its coming together but dont mean much until Track Tested.....Mtr Assermbly 2010 007_128374628448464.JPG650 x 867 - 96K -
Hi Chuck (Ol Racer).--Probably didn't have to do the bypass since we only run the 1/8 or 1/4 mile racing. If you were stock car racing I would do it. The biggest heat problem comes from exhaust gasses passing into the water passages when we used the old fel pro gaskets with added compression. The new (Best) type gasket has solved that problem. I leave the line at 180 and come back the return road 180-200 degrees. Used to be 225-240 with old style gasket.
You're gettin er done!

Just a little update on my Drag Project.
The motor is now in the chassis and been doing major changes on fuel lines, brackets, adding Shut off valves, etc. Doesnt sound like much but been slow going losing days on the simplist things so dont have to re-do something later. I never ran F/Inj before so its been an enjoyable learning experience.
My goal is to at least Test & Tune the Car before snowfall then (If no major bugs), plan to lighten front end by installing Mustang11 tubular suspension, with R & Pinion.......Mtr Assermbly 2010 009 10.JPG560 x 420 - 72K -
FYI
Update on my Project with couple pictures.... Been working on it daily trying to get a Test & Tune run before snow falls here.. Difficult to see, but Motor set back has last 3 cyl's under dash below heater 'box'. Placed motor low so have room to remove head over studs. All Fuel Lines & shut off Valves installed now. Installed Ram Air Set-up. Put Tee in NOS fuel line to prime injectors before starting when belt pump will take over. Headers straddle inside & outside of Frame rail. Almost ready to fire up but need take time off for our Golden Anniversary.Race Mtr in car 2010 002 11.JPG690 x 517 - 94KRace Mtr in car 2010 005 11.JPG776 x 582 - 81K
