Happy New Year to all. Does anyone know if the trunk lid ornament with lock would be the same on a 51 Commodore as the Super series? Not sure about this, but it seems to me that they were different & my memory is not what it used to be. Thanks---Cliff Minard.

Cliff, No Cliff they're not the same. The Super Six lock and ornamentation are more in line with the Pacemaker for 51 than the Commodore. Hudson made the Commodore/Hornet trunk lock for 51 as a stand alone item for that year only. The lockshaft is another issue. The one for the Super series is shorter than the Commodore/Hornet version. The Super series ornamentation is more vertical in design . The Hornet/Commodore one is more horizontal if that's of any help.Different holes were also punched for the respective trunk lids.
