1929 engine number location?
-
Hi, I just got in a 1929 Packard 626 and I'm looking for the engine number. Do any of you folks happen to know where I should look?
Thanks in advance!

You might want to post that question over at the AACA's "Packard" forum, at http://forums.aaca.org/postlist.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB45

The engine number is on the driver-side engine mount to the frame. It should be a six digit number. The chassis number is on the frame just beside the steering box. The body number is a large stamped number on the firewall just over the fuse box.
There also should be a 4" X 5" (about) plate on the lower driver's side of the firewall just over where the steering column comes out. It may have the original dealer's name and date of sale.
