transmission bearing numbers
-
my 48 overdrive transmission needs new bearings. is there a list of the bearings by actual bearing number (not hudson part number) that is available somewhere ? i would really like to have them in my hand when im doing the teardown so i can keep going and re-assemble before i forget how it all came apart. i also would like to know how much i need to cut off the driveshaft when changing my standard three speed to an overdrive. does anyone have that written down somewhere ?
thanks very much in advance.

Give Al Saffran a call. Bet he knows the numbers by memory.
Measure the difference between the standard and OD units, and that's how much you have to shorten the driveshaft. About 8 1/2 inches if memory serves. However, I have a good memory but it's short!
