Door poppers on a 60 vette

Hey, new to the board and I've just got a general question.
I've got a 1960 corvette that I'm customizing. One of the projects I'm considering is installing door poppers and shaving the handles and locks. Has anyone done this or know of someone who has done this? Is this a feasable idea? Any thoughts on the matter? Should this be posted in one of the hot rod forums? Thanks!
