Hornet 308 coolant in the oil pan

Hey folks, Randy Owen here from Midsouth region. It's been a while since I've been on the forum.

The Hudson Hornet Special engine we rebuilt back in 2002 which now has ~

4000 miles on it, has developed a leak of coolant into the oil pan and

it is more than just a few drops, perhaps between and pint and a quart.

140 mile trip in late July showed no indications of a problem. But upon

draining the oil a couple weeks ago, I discovered the problem. The

coolant is totally drained from the car at this point. Considering the

size of the leak, I have discounted any effort to use any kind of block

seal. Originally we torqued the head bolts to the 65-70 lbs and

retorqued at least once. We DID use the copper spray-on type gasket

sealer as I recall. All new #8 bolts with the flat hardened washers.

I ordered one of those newer fiber-type gaskets from Dale Cooper. I

understand no gasket sealer is required to be used wirth this gasket?

Any suggestions would be appreciated for getting this car back on the

road. How many times and at what intervals should I retorque this engine? We just did it twice previously and within 500 miles.
