Does anyone have a 37 Hudson hood ornament? Ideally I could use the center chrome from the hood ornament down to the chin as well. While were at it how about a good hood with chrome too?

Its a 122" wheel base hudson business coupe. I tried to post a picture from prior instructions but to no avail.

K-Gap carried the plastic wing for the '37 Hudson ornament in the past. You might contact them. You would have to find the pot-metal base for this of course, and have it plated, but it's generally the plastic that's hard to find, since it deteriorates and breaks.

Try Bill Albright for the base. He had a 36 for me.

Its the base that I need!! I did buy a wing from Danny at K-Gap a while ago and now need the base, plus chrome piece below it, all the way to the chin.

If anyone has one I would be greatly appreciative!!!!!!!!

I like that better than the cigar on the Terraplane. Those make me think of Buck Rogers every time I see them.

Come to think of it.... the '34 Terraplane is probably my favorite. Come to think of it, how hard are those to find and is anyone willing to loan one for a sand casting?

Brian... I'm a total newbie to Hudson, but I've been beating the woods looking for '37 pieces. If I run across what you need I'll post back here.

Don't know for sure yet, but I've started pestering Dennis at O'Brien Truckers because SOMEone who's usually a reliable source (dear ol 'Dad) told me they'd do one-off's. I have another goofy idea or two I want to try. If that falls through I was going to start asking around on MetalMeet.com and the H.A.M.B.

Dad used to have the gear to do it when he was teaching and when he retired they tossed it all. Still makes me mad when I think about it... I would have gladly paid storage on them for a while if I had to.

I sandcasted car parts when I was in what we called "middle school" it is an easy process, and actually quite fun. I guess the real problem is finding someone that does it, and on a small scale. I bet if you check your local phone directory, someone must be able to do it, maybe look under metal casting or something. But the supplies for it are probably why not a lot of folks do it.

THe idea of casting hood ornaments is pretty cool, someone should be doing this.

Try for someone who does "Art Casting" They will be used to doing one off's for artists.
