Fuel line help

    I am putting an electric fuel pump by the tank on a 51 merc.Can someone tell me can i just splice into the wire that goes to the fuel sensor or do i have to run a wire up to the ignition.

    NO!RUN A SEPERATE WIRE TO THE PUMP.MAKE SURE THE PUMP MATCHES THE BATTERY IN YOUR CAR.ie.6volt pos. ground,or 12volt neg.ground....
