My father in law has a 1956 Dodge Texan. I've searched on the internet for parts, and prices for buying or selling this car. Is there anyone out there that can give me a little push in the right direction.

Mopar had a policy of marketing cars in various parts of the country with regional sounding names to localize the vehicle thus ,potentially increasing sales in those areas . The "Texan" was one of those marketing attempts. They have also done it in their truck line as well. You may remember the "Southbounder" a name intended to be sold in the south . The vehicle is essentially the same as in other parts of the country with no major changes mechanically just sold to a regional market.

Not entirely true. The Texan and its "female" counterpart, the LaFemme, were models of the Royal lancer series; the Texan was available in Texas and surrounding states, but the LaFemme was available nationwide. The Texan was black, gold and white, and the LaFemme was pink and white. Several options were unique to these two cars that were not available on the normal Royal cars. The Texan was available from 1955-1959, but I think the LaFemme was available in '55-'56 only.

Wonder if anyone can e-mail me info regarding the 1957 Texan. What were the options for this year? How many were made? The original paint was pink/white. Have Texan emblems on rear fenders and glove box. I have managed to find 3 other 57's and 1 '58. I've been told that this year is very rare, but someone have to have old pamplets, posters, autophilia about this model. The other 3 cars took me 7 years to locate, so I guess it has to rare.... By the way... I need a windshield for my Texan, and a few more parts.... 2-door hardtop.... can swap for a rear window.... or Buick 1954 parts.
