eng # 7313695 I have your 1954 eng in my car
-
I am rebuilding the original 54 engine (308, I know, numbers-matching) for my 54 Super Wasp Hollywood, and will be removing what I am lead to believe is a 1954 308 engine, ID # 7313695 (located on the pas side up front of the eng block). The 7313695 eng possibly came in a Hornetl
I double-checked the following website and apparently it is a 1954 308 engine, built in September 1954.

This 7313695 eng was probably a West Coast eng from a West Coast car (Los Angeles area).
So, all of you 1954 Hudson owners & friends who might know of this car with same body ID (7313695) & if it has survived, perhaps you'll help to track the current owner to see if he wants the original engine.
Just a thought in passing. Just send me a private message in case you know the owner or the original car or can suggest a way of tracking the engine to the original car.
IDEA: whoever has access to the HET club roster data base could possibly do a search on "313695" or "7313695" to see if it is found. If so the car still exists; great! Any/all help appreciated.
THANKS.
john
