My neighbor has a 54 Hornet with the G.M. hydro. transmission. We can not find the fluid check stick through the floor access hole where it belongs. Any ideas? Thanks. Cliff Minard.

Did you check both sides? The hole for the check stick should be on the passenger side, while the place to adjust the bands is on the driver side.

Thank you Jason, That is exactly where we finally found it. I suspect this car originally had the Borg/Warner which had the check stick on the left & someone switched it to a G.M. unit.
