Ford 300-6 Hot Rod Help Needed!
-
I have an older Hudson running a '73 300-6 with a C4. Am wondering a few things. Which years are the non-electronic AOD trans available from, am thinking of swapping the C4 for one. Problems with them, or a reccommended car/truck to get one from?? Also, will an aftermarket intake manifold with a 4 barrel be a noticeable inprovement to the 300-6 with stock internals? Would I also need to get a later set of factory split exhaust manifolds for this 300-6  to breath?? Any info or hints would be appreciated!

I can't help you with the AOD but the 300 comes alive with the 4bbl intake. You should be using headers as well, factory split manifolds don't breathe really well for the effort put in to split them. Don't use over a 600cfm carb though unless you are using a pretty radical cam.
