Hello, I own a '79 Chevy Malibu 2 door sports coupe my grandfather bought me to be my first car, and was interested if there was much demand for this particular model in the market at large. I've tried doing some research on it in the past, but it seems to be a hard car to find info on for whatever reason, including rough appraisals.

It's that classic, metallic carmelly brown color, in excellent condition with only one small dent on the trunk, a couple of small scratches from shopping carts or people smacking their car doors into it I think, 54,000 original mile,s original spare in excellent condition, I have the original title and everything about the car is more or less, original. It runs quite well, i've put very little money and work into it since I recieved it and while I was never a fan of classic cars, or cars in general much I have to say I do love my car.

It's a gorgeous little thing, I know the part store guys and some of the local mechanics love it when I drive by or stop in, I always here a "that is a nice car!" ^^; It was sitting in a couple of peoples' garages for years, so it's in excellent condition, enough so that every time someone asks at advanced auto parts and I tell them the milage on it thye go "no way!" hehe. It also has virtually no rust on it whatsoever, i've noticed a small spot a bit under the rear window near the trunk but it's clean and dandy underneath and on the outside as well.

Aside from wondering if there was much interest in it, I was wondering if anyone had any tips for care in general of it, or knew of any problems they tend to develope or anything. Or just wanted to discuss it. My baby needs a wash ;-; soon as I get back from Canada land it's going to my gramp's for a wash and wax. He had mentioned possibly showing it in the warmer months, that might be fun if I can get time off.

oh! I also need a windshield washer fluid cap for it, the one on it is busted and it's being held with electrical tape right now. If anyone knows where I can find one sans hunting down a junkyard, please feel free to share.

And, if anyone wants pictures i'd be happy to take some so long as the weather holds and it stays sunny for a few days, yay.

Im having a hard time with that my self . I own a 79 malibu classic 2dr coupe a lot of people want it only to destroy it to make it into a dirt track racer. As I drive around I dont see many malibu,s , I counted only 5 in the past 10 years some parts are hard to find. I really would like to restore this one but no aftermarkets are available on restoration just the el camino and monte carlos

any old car is worth keeping cause someone will wont more than you do and offer a good price for it.

I use to own a 1979 Malibu, so I am familar with that vehicle. I now own a 1987 El Camino. In regard to parts, your Malibu is a "G-body" platform and most any part you would need to restore you Malibu is available. Dixie Monte Carlo carries Malibu as well as El Camino parts. The interiors of these cars are all pretty much the same. All the mechanical parts are available at Napa Auto Parts. Ebay is my number source for parts if I want an OEM used or new part that Dixie does not have. Best of luck!
