Please I.D. This Hood Ornament
-
Can anyone tell me what this hood ornament is from? All I know for sure is that it's from a Chevrolet. My dad thinks it's a '47 or '48, but I've seen it on '51's already.
I AM HAVING TOO MUCH TROUBLE TRYING TO POST THE PHOTO ITSELF TO THIS THREAD. (stupid iMacs!!) PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW TO SEE THE HOOD ORNAMENT.
Thanks. -Tom-

You need to post it to the Classiccar photo gallery, then grab the URL and either
1) simply post it here in text form, so it appears as a colored link on your message, or
2) open up GO ADVANCED (see button below) and click on the little yellow square. This opens up a window into which you can copy/paste the URL. Then, instead of merely posting a link to click, you will post the actual photo
In order to obtain the URL, merely place your cursor over your photo (where it appears in the Classiccar photo gallery) and right-click your mouse. A little dialog box opens; left-click PROPERTIES. Then ANOTHER dialog box opens which contains a lot of info. about the photo including the URL. Highlight the URL, right-click and select COPY. Then close all the dialog boxes and go back to your message-posting form, and PASTE the URL there.
It is very difficult to upload a photo directly to the message form. The upper size limit is too low. -
Howdy
I think its off of a 1949-52 Chevy. Saw one on Ebay a while back and that was what it was listed for. Wanta sell it?

Sorry, Billy, that's the same one I just sold. I'm trying to I.D. it for the buyer."Problems are merely opportunities in workclothes." -Henry J. Kaiser -

Thanks, Jon B. I hope it's accurate; I checked out their website and found the Kaiser info all screwed up. I tried to contact the webmaster via the site's contact form, and after I submitted my message correcting the Kaiser pics something in German came up (this being a German website), so I don't know if they got it OK. I am always a little leery regarding non-U.S. info on U.S. cars, but I would think they'd at least get the Big Three stuff straight. I will pass this info on to the person who bought my hood ornament, and thanks again for your reply. -Tom-"Problems are merely opportunities in workclothes." -Henry J. Kaiser
