'59 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser??????

According to the Standard Catalog of American Cars 1946-1975 the term 'TURNPIKE CRUISER' is mentioned in '57 & '58. It is not mentioned as an engine option,trim option or seperate body style in '59. A fellow selling his '59 Montclair 2 door hardtop has a factory badge on the outside of each side of the roof 'C' pillar saying 'TURNPIKE CRUISER.' What's up?
