Help! Select Donor Motor
-
New to Forum. I don't have enough experience with Ford motors to know if I am about to shoot myself in the foot. Current project is a 48 Ford F-1 Pickup. I would like to use a small block Ford and auto trans. Are there any differences in 302 cu in blocks that make them more or less desirable for my project. I have a 1995 Thunderbird available as a donor. Would this engine and trans make a good choice for my project? Any discussion or suggestions would be helpful. Don't want to start down a path and find I should have used a different block.
Thanks for helping the new old man on the block.
Jim
