53 Engine Removal Question
-
Pulled the head to check low compression on #7 and the engine is very tired. I do have a spare with 65,000 and it runs to put into my 53 Clipper. I have pulled the hood, pulled radiator, disconnected everything thing but the 2 upper automatic tranny to engine bolts which I now realize that I will need to angle the trans down and front of engine up to get at these. Book says pull the trans before in order to pull the engine. I could understand doing this for a stick but for the Ultra as well? Would it be simpler to pull the engine and trans out together? should I remove the front clip off the car so I don't have such and angle issue over the radiator support?
Appreciate any input I can get
