Transmission Removal

O.k., I did a search and couldn't find the original thread. If I need to pull a Hydramatic tranny out of a step-down, do I remember right in that it comes out of the top, i.e., through the interior of the car? The minimal damage to the tranny so far is that the front seal is leaking and needs to be replaced. We're going to take the tranny apart and ascertain what else we might have that's burned up, besides my patience.

The hudramatic comes out under the car. Drop the crossmember and support the engine.
