Looking to rent classic cars for a Travel Channel television shoot
-
Hello All!
We are a small production company in New York City and will be shooting in a few cities across the United States. We are currently looking for classic cars to rent at an hourly rate. We would be driving the vehicles with the hosts of our show at the wheel and in very tight quarters (no long distance traveling) for about 4 hours. A lot of us are car lovers also so we always appreciate a good car when we see one! Anyone who would like to get involved, please contact me, Justin Marr at 941-387-4060 or just message me on here or by e-mail at justin.marr@papernyentertainment.com. This is a list of the vehicles I'm currently searching for:
- Classic Pickup Truck
- classic Ford Mustang
- Classic Pontiac Thunderbird
- Jeep Grand Wagoneer
- Volkswagon Bus
- Chevrolet Chevelle
- Classic Jaguar
- Classic Volvo
- Dodge Charger
- Ford Bronco
- Chevrolet Bell Air
- Classic Mercedes
We will be shooting in Austin, San Francisco, Atlanta and Boston.
Thanks so much, everyone!! -
My advice to anyone interested in renting their car out: Insist on seeing that the production company has valid insurance to cover for any loss or damage to your vehicle. It would be best if you could be on site with the car, if possible. Too many horror stories out there. My '52 Hornet sustained minor damage on Southfork Ranch during shooting of a "Dallas" special, but Lorimar paid for the damages. Read the contract carefully before agreeing to anything.

I got several thou dollars for 2 weeks filming on the King Kong remake. Only prob was that I provided a clean shiny 28 Essex Coupe but they wanted it dirty which is how they returned it!! $-) I could have doubled the payment had I been prepared to drive all night but I still had a day job then!! Now retired :-hDave Y

I have done several film shoots in both my 1942 Hudson Brougham and the 1946 Hudson coupe which I have since sold, I always tell them before the filming I am the one to drive the car no one else, have always been ok with that. Often had the cars picked up from my home in enclosed transporters and delived to sight and returned.

Yes thank you for making that clear. We are going to cover the vehicle under our insurance policy and can promise any damages that may occur would absolutely be fixed. Our crew is very respectful and professional. We're also a very small crew so there would only be one person coordinating everything, not too many cooks in the kitchen. Our hopes are that our celebrity hosts would be able to get behind the wheel and drive the vehicle around a bit. We also welcome the car owner to be on sight and completely understand the desire to be, especially when dealing with beautiful and expensive cars like these. Again, we are a very small production so we'd love if you could work with us on rate. We'll also buy you a nice lunch if you'd like to join us on set! Any other questions, concerns, or feedback, please keep posting. Thanks so much!

We've actually narrowed the request to:
Classic Mustang (Austin, Texas)
Classic Charger (San Francisco, CA)
Thanks again!
