1938 "112" rolling chassis, headlights, frt fenders FOR SALE
-
On Ebay, Beaverton, Oregon, starting at $200, good opportunity for someone restoring this type of car. If the auction deadline's past, the contact info is: Ralph 503-649-5803. Here's the URL: http://www.ebay.com/itm/38-Hudson-running-gear-frame-fenders-etc-/171009897837?hash=item27d0fbf56d&item=171009897837&pt=Salvage_Parts_Cars&vxp=mtr

Too far for me - Oregon is about 3000 miles, one way.
Talking Points:
- The front fenders look like they are for a '39 112 (model 90), notice the round holes in the front of the fenders (for the side-grilles), which the '38 fenders do not have;
- The running boards look solid. These are very hard to come by;
- The headlight buckets appear to be in decent shape, and look appropiate for either a '38 or a '39. They appear to have aftermarket sealed beam kits (partial?) installed - but it is hard to tell;
- The hood side panels are correct and match the stamping for the bucket brackets - which are for a '38 112 (Note: I have a spare set of '38 112 headlight bucket brackets - blasted and primed, if anyone is interested in them);
-
Overall -
The fenders are worth the $200 starting price (each), just on their own. The buckets are a pricey hard-to-find item which typically rusts out, as are the running boards.
Most already have the chassis for their project, unless there is rusting or damage. This chassis looks good. The rims do not appear to be hudson - just there to move the chassis around. -
Good eye Kevin! Looks like it also has the column shift too - first year for that was '39, wasn't it?

Kevin,
Just got a PM from Dave Kastelic, he reminded me of where I first saw a late 30's column shift - His '38 convertible! It is original to the car, so column shift was available in '38.
