What year coupe body?
-
This Hudson (or Terraplane) coupe body was sitting along the fence at a closed (it was Sunday) salvage yard. By that body belt line can it be identified for exact year? Thanks.

I'm going to guess 1938 based on what I can see of the dash and the front end with high shock mounts . :)

38 & 39 are very close, with many of the same or very similiar components (frame, doors, etc).
A closer picture of the dash would help, however if it is a 'Utility Coupe' (i.e., commercial series) it could be a '39 with a '38 dash (as with my '39 112 P/U). Serial number - located on the right-front pillar, would tell the tale. -
I agree with Rick. It could be either a 38 or 39. It's definitely a SWB so that would make it a 112. There are several 39 coupes in the club that have 38 dashboards like Rick's P/U.
You wouldn't have to open the door to get the VIN as it is stamped on the side of the frame just forward of where the last body bolt is located.

I took the pic over the fence and the yard is 100 miles away so I won't be learning more unless I go back that way. Thanks for your help.
