75 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham.....i'm new at this

Hi everyone! I am buying this Fleetwood from a really good friend of mine. It was given to him by his uncle when he passed away and he just hasn't had the time to work on it or drive it like it needs to be drive.
It was meticulously taken care of and it really shows. It has 109,000 miles on it, is nearly fully optioned out and runs like new.
And the cost of all this magnifance to me? $750...
Even though i am young, i will not "pimp my ride" this car like everyone else would. I'm am trying to keep it as bone stock as possible to keep its value up. This may not yet be a complete classic but i think it will be in the near future.
Occassionally i will be posting questions i may have. Today i'll start with one
It has the original 8-track/ AM FM radio. I would like to keep that for originality, but i know some guys that restore cars will add a second radio for daily driving purposes that has an aux in and other things. I would like to know how this is easily done?

Cool car but you will want to post this in a Gm section. This is the Hudson section and while some of these guys can help you out you'll do better there.

Those are great cars ,Ive had two cady's and loved em both. One was a 76 coupe deville very close to yours in age. Great runner and agile handling like no big car should .500 cubic inch engine yet could get 15 mpg if you kep you foot out of it. But I sorta liked feeling the floorboards vibrate when you turned the engine loose and let it fly,

When my wife and I were dating, I asked to borrrow my Dads 70 Eldorado for a dinner date at friends. 200 mile round trip. I watched the gas gage drop as that 500 inche lush almost drained a full tank of gas. I never asked to borrow it again.

Haha i'm perfectly fine with the bad gas mileage. I would rather drive a car that i can be proud of than drive an ecobox that is disposable

I remember running late for work once ,it was about 1/2 - 3/4 hour drive normaly depending on trafic. I made it in 15 min. but used a quarter tank of gas.

So on with a couple questions.
    1. I asked about the radio earlier. Would you recommend adding in a second radio for daily driving ease? I just want to know if it will detrement the value. I'm perfectly fine with replacing the broken 8 track and getting a converter to tape which converts to an aux in, but just wondering.
    2. The rust in the picture below. It isn't through anything yet, but it is fairly moderate. What would be the easiest way to stop this at the moment? I'm talking more about the rust around the vinyl roof than the hood. It also has a fair amount on the bottom-inside of the doors.

There are guys around that fix the old radios .In my 76 Cady my 8 track was flakey and I finaly took it out (and that is quite easy ,the dash vents pop out revealing screws to remove dash pad).
I took it to a shop localy that repaired car radios and it cost about $50.00 to fix it. Was the voulume control making the speakers cut in and out. The guy I used is closed but I see places advertised that will fix or convert the old radios to more modern types.
As far as the rust goes if all you want to do is contain it till you can get complete paint job. There are products just for that ,rust neutralizing sprays .clean and sand the spot and spray it on. Most of them turn the rust black so you may want to find a matching body color to spray over it till you can do better,

Ok thanks! That's what i was thinking of doing. I just needed to know if it was the best way.
And as far as the radio, only the right side speakers work as well as the eight track is flakey so i'll try to find one.
Also, the power antenna doesn't work. What are the common problems with them? I'll check to see if its just a fuse.

I never had trouble with my antenna but the wiring is very simple .If you get a wiring diagram and unplug the antenna motor you should be able to put power to it (on the right terminals thats why you want diagram) and see if it works . If it does then the problem is in the radio or fuse Or maybe a relay if they had one (again the diagram is helpfull).
The radio speakers was what mine was doing . Some of them would cut out and if you touched the knob they came back - but kept getting worse. The 8 track has a belt drive and could very well have a worn belt ,
