Hydraulic lifters
-
Has anyone ever checked to see if the Packard straight 8 plunger-style hydraulic lifter bodies are the same as the '56 308 Hornet lifters? I know pre-OHV Caddys are too big. I found a single NOS early Chrysler 331 (50-52) and it is the same as the Hudson body, but, again, I've only ever found one.

Hello, I decided to check it out for you,,,,,interesting. The Packard Hydraulic lifters have the same bore diameters as Hudson, 5/8" or .625-.630", the tappet face is 1-1/8" or 1.125", whereas the Hudson tappet face seems to be 1.225", and the Packard overall length is 2-7/8" or 2.875" whereas the Hudson ones are 2.725", unless the gentleman measuring his Packard lifters was using a ruler, they are slightly different. The only way for me to confirm would be to buy the used set the gent has on eBay at the moment. Or you could buy them.
