My uncle has some tools that he wants me to sell for him; I've been trying to find information, but have had no luck. I was hoping to get some feedback about what the value of these tools are. He has: 1. Sun Standard Distributor Testor 2. Van Dorn Dry Valve Grinder 3. Hall Valve Seat Grinder 4. Sorenson Ignition Parts - full cabinet of points & condensors.

    Any help is appreciated.

I'm interested in the Sun Dist. Tester. But where are these located? All have value depending on their condition and immediate usefulness. If they have sat in a damp barn for 25 years, then not so much.

The value of your valve grinding machine will vary depending on the ammount and condition of stones with them. Some brands are worth more than others of course ,you may look around on Ebay to get an Idea . A cabinet of parts is impossible to value with no more info than whats given. The age of the items and what the fit is critical to value. Some nice cabinets may be worth more than the contents . Sorensen is not a real sought after colectable but you never know- a nice cabinet is a nice cabinet. I bought 3 NAPA cabinets with contents for $75.00 not long ago ,and will never find a deal like that again.. Just as an example ,any nice parts cabinet of any size decent size should be worth $75.00.

The items are located in Kansas City, KS. They all work, but need to be cleaned. They've been stored in a garage and a basement. If I can figure out how to post pics from my iPhone I will.

i have sold 2 valve grinders, i think one was a souix, for around $200 a couple of years back.
i have also sold several of the seat grinders. the cheapest was 40 with no stones or box, i don't even think it had the nut or onything on the arbor. the highest was sround 150 with just a few acc and the box.
funny thing you mentioned this i was just eyeing a old allen engine analyzer from the early 50's yesterday that is for sal locally. it had several hudson engines listed on its dial. i just know i don't really have the room but it's such a neat piece.

Thanks Tallent; unfortunately I don't have Internet at home, so saving to my computer won't help.
