    This morning I rcvd an email from someone called contactus. This email was titled Webmail Account Warning and said, basically, that Failure to upgrade my email account would result in email account deactivation within 24 hours. There is a link (isn't there always) to go to where you could update your email account size to 4.8gb.

    So having fallen off the turnip truck many years ago and being the suspicious type I googled Webmail Account Warning and went to this site - which confirmed this is phishing scam.

    @Alex, I'm so suspicious, that I did not even opened your link...Just in case you would not be the ''Real Alex'', cause the ''Real Alex'' would have written something like ''conundrum'' in his topic...Michel
    P.S. If you are ''Ze Real Alex'', I want to thank you for helping me improve my English writing
    and knowledge... :)>-

    I this type of thing (in some variation) every day - on all of my email accounts (work, home, etc..). First thing I do is tag/identify them as 'SPAM' within my account(s), so they go straight into Junk Mail from that point going forward...

    I have my email accounts set to 'text only' (no HTML if I can avoid it), and do not even open most unknown or suspect emails - and NEVER click on links or 'open' attachments in any emails...

    (the last item is as a result of a very recent episode, which caused issues...).

    Yes, be suspicious - very suspicious.

    If you somehow get an email from an organization that you deal with:
    - Open a new instance of your browser, go to the site (independent of any email or link), and check it out; or -
    - Pick-up the phone and call them to confirm (do not use any phone numbers in the email received, as they could be fake too!);

    NO company, association, etc., that you deal with should 'cut you off' in such a manner. And they are not about to send you such a notice via email.

    And lastly - NEVER, Never, never respond to any unsolicited email (or snail mail, for that matter) concerning any 'offer' or advertisement. It is NEVER worth the potential trouble it may cause you...

    Just my .02 worth.

    Thanks Rick,
    I wish I would of taken this advice. The F.B.I closed my computer down, only needed
    $200.00 to open. Didn't mail the $$$, but had one heck of a time getting the computer to open, now computer is still sick.
