Floor Shifter off shoot
-
If one installs a floor shifter...do they get a squeeze clutch lever as part of the package? Or are these handle triggers just a locking system for the shifting mechanism separate from the clutch?
-
All the handle triggers I've seen just lock out reverse, and have nothing to do with the clutch. The idea was that when you were "speed shifting", you wanted to be pretty sure you didn't catch reverse by accident, for obvious reasons.
But now that you bring up the subject, I wonder if the trigger could also be used to slide the OD shift rail when you're going to shift into reverse? Now wouldn't that be clever? Hmmmmm. . .
