'Activity' - It ain't your Inbox -
-
Forum Members -
There has been a lot of members posting PMs within 'Activity' since classiccar.com rolled-out the new format, and it still occurrs very frequently.
Please be aware that - -
Anything anyone posts in 'Activity' is public, for all to view - even those that are not members of the classiccar.com forum can view (and scan) those posts in that area, and read everything that is posted there;
- As far as I know, there are no notifications made to messages left there. That means that if you leave a message, it may not be 'read' by the intended party, as they will not receive any notice that a message is pending for them;
When you go to your personal area (clicking on your 'forum handle') that open text window in that area is not your 'Inbox', it is the 'Activity' area.
To send a PM:
- 'Click' on the icon called 'Inbox';
- Then look to the upper-right of the screen and click-on 'Start a Conversation';
- Start typing the 'handle' of the member you want to send a PM to. It should begin to auto-populate, you can then pick from the list of names/handles that come up. You can send PMs to multiple people;
It's pretty much self explainatory from there -
Also - Once a PM session is started, it can be continued right from that area, without issue (i.e., you do not need to start a 'new' conversation, unless you want to...
