heater hose config.

trying to hook up heater hoses. what is the way to hook up from bypass to heat control to heater core . hooked it up to what i thought would work , but when i ran engine it started to blow water out overflow tube . any ideas would help

OK, there are two sets of connections ... the ones that are side by side are for the heater valve, the set that are "over-under" are the heater connections. For the connections of the heater (Ranco) valve, the right-hand one connects to the cylinder head outlet; the left one goes over to the lower connection on the heater. The upper connection for the heater goes up forward to the water pump.
