It depends on the thickness of the gaskets you use. You want the heat shield in the middle of the gasket pack and when nuts are tightened, studs should just clear the top of the nuts. Walt.

    John-

Like Walt said, depends on the thickness. Two on top and two on bottom works well if the gaskets are about 3/16" to 1/4" thick each.

I placed a paper composite (standard type) on the bottom against the intake, with 2 Felpro 60269s( Ford) above it. Then the metal shield and one 60269 above the shield, then a standard paper gasket on top.I would have liked two 60269s, but my studs were just a bit too short.

Thanks guys, Thats what i thought. The front carb is two up and two down, The back one is all four on top . They said it had burnt valves, That why they parked it. But from the amount of fence wire they had strung on the carbs, and fuel lines i think it was more vapor lock and them taking things apart and putting them back half ass that did it in. But they didnt have much so they did the best they could, now its my turn Thanks JOHN
