i have a lot of play in the steering on my 53 super. is there a small roller bearing in this part. if so does anyone no of a bearing number for it. i have searched in my parts book and and can not come up with a number. a good parts picture would be a lot of help.

Hudson should never have used needle rollers in that situation, a bronze bush would have been a much better choice.
If I was doing a replacement I would go for the bush rather than the rollers. Check that the shaft has not been worn by the needles before you go too far, otherwise you could be back to square one very quickly. -
thanks for info roger. Do you no where the nylon or bronze bushings kits are available
from. this was an item overlooked in rebuild.

We have the complete kit for $85.

If the pin is good I make a replacement bushing for $30 + $5 shipping. By the way I do not use nylon, Delrin or Acetate as I don't feel they are durable enough. I also do not care for bronze and certainly no brass. Gert Kristiansen email:

There you go , Sorry I went to bed before yo ugot all your answers .I would agree the original is a poor option given modern choices.

We have had no complaints with the bronze-pin set up and they do work well over and above the roller bearings alnd so far are long lasting.. I do not have experience with the" Plastics" so I won't comment.
